Strawberry Farms

Nuwara Eliya’s cool climate makes it ideal for strawberry farming. Visit a farm to pick fresh strawberries or enjoy strawberry desserts like jams, milkshakes, and ice cream.

Horton Plains National Park

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Horton Plains offers breathtaking landscapes, cloud forests, and grasslands. The highlight is the trek to World’s End, a sheer cliff with dramatic views.

Hakgala Botanical Garden

One of Sri Lanka’s largest botanical gardens, Hakgala is home to diverse plant species, including colorful roses, orchids, and tropical trees. It’s especially beautiful during the flowering season.

Pedro Tea Estate

A working tea plantation where visitors can tour the factory to learn about tea production and enjoy a cup of freshly brewed Ceylon tea. The surrounding tea fields are great for photos.

Victoria Park

Lover's Leap Waterfall

A picturesque waterfall located near the Pedro Tea Estate. It’s an easy hike and offers stunning views of the surrounding area.

Moon Plains

A lesser-known gem, Moon Plains is a scenic area with panoramic views of Sri Lanka’s central highlands. It’s popular for its unique circular viewpoint called "Mini World's End."

Seetha Amman Temple

A Hindu temple dedicated to Sita from the Ramayana epic. Located near Hakgala Botanical Garden, the temple is steeped in myth and features statues and carvings depicting the Ramayana story.

Galway's Land National Park

A small but rich biodiversity hotspot, ideal for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts. The park is home to various endemic bird species and a peaceful forest environment.

Nuwara Eliya Post Office

Housed in a Tudor-style building, this charming colonial-era post office is one of the oldest in Sri Lanka and a popular spot for photos.

Ambewela Farm

Known as “Little New Zealand,” Ambewela Farm produces fresh dairy products. Visitors can tour the farm, see cows and other livestock, and taste fresh milk and cheese.

Pidurutalagala

The highest mountain in Sri Lanka, offering spectacular views of the surrounding highlands. Access is restricted, but visitors can go partway up for stunning scenery.

St. Clair's Falls and Devon Falls

These two iconic waterfalls are located near Nuwara Eliya and can be viewed from several points along the road. They’re often called the “Little Niagara of Sri Lanka.”

Gregory Lake

A serene lake surrounded by green hills, perfect for boating, picnics, and horseback riding. There’s also a park area with walking paths and food stalls.
